I am sorry to announce that tonight's performance of Island Fantasy has been canceled and effective immediately, will no longer be associated with The Hobnob and/or its current owners. If you pre-purchased admission, you should see a refund reflect in your account in 3-5 business days.

​

The decision to not continue our relationship with that business and the new owners became necessary after being subjected to behavior and treatment that I feel no longer met with the standards of our show and the community my husband and I built the show for. 

​

My husband and I created Island Fantasy and dedicated the last 3+ years to its run because we are passionate about performance, theatre, drag, and our community. We knew we could deliver something unique to Alameda and a space that was grossly underrepresented in our city and still is. The previous owners, Scott and Amy, were gracious enough to not only give us a space at The Hobnob at a time when others in our city wound not, but saw the show and the community as something that should be celebrated.  

 

At a time where laws and legislators are actively trying to silence our community, we must speak out and not become complacent when that behavior hits close to home.

This is not the end of our show. This is the beginning of a new chapter. We will continue to support inclusive businesses and will continue giving our community a queer space that is safe.
